Health & Safety

BackHug upholstery is antimicrobial
The material used in the BackHug upholstery conforms to ISO 22196 and ASTM G21. Our suppliers report that independent testing has been performed on the material which shows that it is effective at reducing the spread of MRSA, Ecoli and other similar bacteria.

BackHug has been independently tested for user safety and received certification for safety standards EN 60335-1: 2012 and EN 60335-2-32: 2003 +A1: 2015 +A2: 2008 (these are the specific safety tests required for consumer electronics and therapy devices).

The gentle rocking movement on the user’s back only carries up to 20 kgs of force, compared to the 60 kgs of force typically applied by therapeutic devices, which have been operating in the market for decades.
